NRC Realty & Capital Advisors needed more space for their Chicago headquarters. Relocating to a new building required a complete gutting of an existing space and full programming, planning, architectural and interior design services. The client wanted an attractive, modern, elegant space that would warmly welcome clients as well as meet the complex technology needs of staff. The transformation of the 5,000 square foot of workspace provided opportunities for the integration of a significant number of works of art cherished by the company’s owner. The final design called for nine perimeter offices and two conference rooms enclosed in an aluminum storefront system surrounding a central area for seven open office workstations. Support spaces included a server room, restrooms, kitchen and break area. The space blends rustic elements of wood and concrete with bold colors and sophisticated furnishings to provide an elegant yet relaxed aesthetic thoroughly in alignment with NRC’s goals.
